Multiplaying
Ronin allows for you to play up to 3 characters simultaneously, allowing for 720 different class combinations, some more useful than others. Please visit the Multiplaying Section for further information.

The Vault
Located just one east of Reception (or n,e,u,e from Market Square), The Vault is a place where you can store excess equipment indefinitely for a one-time fee of just 1.5x rent (type "offer" at Reception to see rent fee). The cost of purchasing a vault is 200,000 gold coins ("buy vault"), and it'll hold up to 500 items. Once you've got a vault, you can store & retrieve items ("store [item]", "recover [item]"), buy view acess or full access for other players ("buy view [player]", "buy access [player]"), list items by category or keyword and more. Type "look sign" at The Vault or "help vault" for further details on the commands.

Bulletin Boards
There are a number of boards located throughout Midgaard. Most are topic-specifc and players have the ability to read and post new messages on them. The main board is located 3 north from Market Square and the quest & idea boards are located to the east & west of there respectively. There is also an Adventurers board (located both in Donation Room & Club Grunting Boar) for players to talk to each other, request assistance, etc., although this board isn't used much. Clans with clan halls also have their own boards.

Death Traps & Hazards
Death traps are certain rooms or places on the mud that cause the player to die almost instantly. Death traps take away experience and stats at twice the normal amount. Corpses are retrievable from death traps, but by entering to retrieve one, the retriever is sure to die as well. Careful timing with a recall or summon is needed. Ask for assistance if you require help getting your corpse back. Hazards are very similar to death traps, except there's only a 50% chance of death and no stats or experience are lost. Of course, it'll still be dangerous to retrieve the corpse.

ANSI Color
You can toggle ANSI color on and off by just type "color". There are 16 available colors. For information on changing the color of certain text or using colors in your text, type "help color".

Quests
There are two types of quests available on Ronin, AutoQuests and Immortal-Run Quests. I'll briefly explain each of them. AutoQuests can be requested at any time from your guildmaster by typing "aquest request solo" (solo is the easiest level, there's also low & high). The guildmaster will give you 60 minutes to kill a specific mob. Once you've killed it, return to the guildmaster and type "aquest complete" to receive your reward (aq points). You can then spend the points on higher stats (up to 25 -- costs 200 aq points for 19, 400 for 20, 600 for 21, etc.) or subclass points. Type "help aquest" for more information on AutoQuests. Immortal-Run quests are quests that are run by the gods. They usually only happen when there's a fair number of players connected and people show some interest in playing. They can range from collecting questcards (or playing questcard poker), Easter egg hunts on Easter, Chaos (player-killing), or collecting other items. The rules will be explained by the god running the quest, not to worry. Prizes can include really good anti-rent items, stats added to your existing items (+dam, +hp, +mana, etc), vanitized items (see "help vanity"), subclass tokens and much more, usually determined by the roll of a quest die.

The Lottery Machine
You can reach the Midgaard Lottery by going [4w,5s,4e,s,e] from Market Square (MS). The Lottery is a great way for the lucky to win some decent equipment. Once you're there, type "look machine" to see a list of upcoming lottery draws. Sometimes there are even quest (non-loading) items that appear in the lottery. Type "help lottery" for more details.

Class Placement Points
CPP rank the top 10 players in each class. Points are gained by various means (levels, stats, hit points, mana, age, subclasses, ranks, etc.) You can see the top 10 players by going to your guildmaster and looking at the list (each class' list goes by a different name.) Class placement points by themselves aren't really useful for anything except for bragging rights.

Ranks
These are obtained from the Mayor in Midgaard (he can often be found on Main Street, The Magic Shop, or the Mage's Guild). Ranks give you regeneration bonuses, skill bonuses, +dam, perma-fly, etc. depending on class & rank. The cost for the 1st rank is 5m exp & 1m gold, the 2nd rank is 10m exp & 5m gold, and the 3rd rank is 15m exp & 10m gold. When you die, you lose a rank and will have to pay the full price to obtain it again. For a complete list of ranks and information on their specific abilities, type "help ranks" within the game.

Reboots
Ronin reboots every 22 hours. If you type "time" within the game, you'll see the next scheduled reboot time (along with game time & the real time.) When the game reboots, everything is reset -- subclass tokens are redistributed, and mobs may load objects they weren't carrying before the reboot.

Chaos Zone
The Chaos Zone [located s,2w,s,open trapdoor,d,n,2e,n,2w,open door,n,enter portal (from Market Square)] is an area where players can fight to the death without fear of losing equipment or experience. When a player dies, he or she is instantly transported to the morgue with equipment & stats intact. Type "help chaos zone" within the game for more details.

Clans
Groups of players that hang out together & decide to become more organized as a group. Normally they share equipment and vaults, and the more established clans have their own clan halls. The cost of forming an official clan recognized by the game (without a clan hall) is 30m gold coins. Type "help clan hall" to see a list of clan hall prices.

Immortals
These are the players with letters instead of numbers as their level/class on the "who" list (IMM, DEI, TEM, WIZ, ETE, SUP, IMP). Type "wizlist" to see a list of all active immortal staff. If a player chooses to become a God, he or she must first attain level 33 and have a really good set of gear. Type "help immortals" for additional information or go to Immortals page to see current gods.
